SCMA Political Action

Currently, there are two (2) bills pending in the Legislature that will affect the South Carolina Funeral Industry: 

Bill H 3362, if passed, would require the funeral director and embalmer to sign the death certificate.  The Senate referred this bill to the 3M committee on March 8, 2007. 

Bill H 3629, was introduced on March 1, 2007 and referred to the 3M committee on the same date.  This bill, if passed, would increase the minimum fine to one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) and to increase the maximum fine to five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) relating to penalties for violating regulations of embalmers and funeral directors.
